Job Overview
The Finance Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the finance functions for the organization. This will include monitoring and analyzing finance data and producing financial reports or statements. Oversee the daily functions of accounting, finance, tax, internal control following Hubbell’s and local requirement. Will train key persons of Longbow local finance team to perform successor plan. Help drive operational improvements within the finance department.
A Day In The Life
Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:
- Manages and supervises daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable financial regulations and policies.
- Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budget, and forecast preparation.
- Oversee and must be a “hands-on” manager for the month/year-end close process, including preparing and reviewing financial statements, general ledger reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Manages the budgeting and forecast preparation, collaborating with department heads to create comprehensive and realistic results
- Monitor key financial indicators, identify trends, and provide insights to drive business decisions.
- Develop and implement streamlined accounting policies, procedures, and processes to enhance internal controls
- Coordinates and facilitates internal and external audits, provides necessary documentation and address findings.
- Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, including training, mentoring, and performing.
- Participates in projects assigned, leveraging financial expertise and analysis to support decision-making and drive business growth
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- CPA certification preferred
- 6-10 years of accounting experience (required)
- 6-10 years or management experience
- Proficiency in accounting software, financial reporting, and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Precision and accuracy in financial data reporting and analysis
- Ability to identify complex and resolve complex financial issues and discrepancies.
- Strong and effective written and verbal communication
- Proven time management skills; ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks effectively
- Exceptional judgment and common sense, demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and be creative in developing employee-centric solutions
- Results-oriented with a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment
