Position Overview

AccelTex Solutions is seeking a talented, highly-motivated, dependable individual for software / firmware development.  The candidate will design, implement, and debug firmware for real-time embedded microcontrollers.  We are a hi-tech manufacturing company with a focus in Wi-Fi systems for enterprise sensor and monitoring applications.  This position is full-time and located in San Antonio, Texas.

Duties and Responsibilities

•    Responsible for design, development, and test of embedded firmware code as well as providing support for manufacturing processes.
•    Strong knowledge of embedded real-time operating systems, (OS, drivers, etc.)
•    Evaluate and propose alternatives for microcontroller/microprocessor and related components
•    Excellent knowledge of firmware design, code, and test
•    Experience with 8/ 16 / 32 bit microcontroller and low power management
•    Experience with Raspberry Pi
•    Experience with Cloud (AWS and Azure)
•    Problem solving and debugging firmware related issues in short time periods
•    Proficiency in C/C++, Python, Java and other programming languages
•    Software test planning and execution – use of test scripts, emulators, etc
•    Understanding of networks, Wi-Fi networks, and network communications protocols.
•    Familiarity with UART, SPI or SDIO interfaces
•    Able to read and work with detailed hardware schematics
•    Experience with IAR embedded development environments
•    A plus to have experience using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes and protocol sniffers.
•    A plus to have experience with Wi-Fi modules
•    A plus to have experience in iOS or Android application platforms
•    A plus to have experience with embedded Linux

Skills and Experience

•    Good verbal and written skills
•    Technical writing is a plus
•    Strong troubleshooting skills
•    Good interaction and interpersonal skills with end users as well as team
•    Proficient use of computer systems/software
•    Bachelor Degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering with 3-5 years of experience

•    Ability to understand and follow specific directions and instructions
•    Keen attention to detail
•    Ability to multi-task and work under tight, time specific deadlines


Bachelors Degree in Engineering General or Computer Science
