Job Overview

To facilitate the execution of the molding production schedule by ensuring the Production Department is manufacturing product within specification and at desired cycle time.

A Day In The Life

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proficiently start up and shutdown molding machines.
  • Capable of determining if a molded part is of good quality.
  • Able to perform corrective action adjustments on machines to make a quality parts.
  • Inspect parts for surface and dimensional defects.
  • Accurately document process parameters.
  • Accurately fill out 1st piece inspection forms.
  • Troubleshoot and correct process problems at the press.
  • Change logo plates as required.
  • Purge barrel of leftover materials at the conclusion of an order.
  • Confirm production work orders.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and worker utilization.
  • Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.
  • Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Proficiently start up and shutdown molding machines.
  • Capable of determining if a molded part is of good quality.
  • Able to perform corrective action adjustments on machines to make a quality parts.
  • Inspect parts for surface and dimensional defects.
  • Material handling as needed.
  • Accurately record scrap material.
  • Relieve operators and/or material handlers for breaks.
  • Run molds, finish parts and package as required.
  • Assist with mold changes when necessary.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Technical school or training certificate or comparable on the job training.
  • Able to safely operate hand held and stationary power tools.
  • Ability to lead team through daily production activities.
  • Able to work safely with sharp and heavy objects (e.g., utility knives, aluminum blocks).
  • Able to use measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, dial indicators.
  • Able to be licensed to operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane hoist, etc.) – we will train.
  • 3-5 years previous experience in a injection molding is required, e.g., processing, setups.
  • Must be able to stand
  • Must be able to climb up and down stairs multiple times during the shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
  • This is a physical job
  • Must be able bend, lift, kneel, stoop
