Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician I - Mold Change is responsible for performing mold changeovers on injection molding equipment while supporting the maintenance and reliability of production equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring molds are changed safely, efficiently, and according to production schedules to minimize downtime and maximize equipment utilization. The technician works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Tooling personnel and performs preventive maintenance activities, minor repairs, and basic troubleshooting of molding and auxiliary equipment.

1st Shift Monday - Friday with OT as needed on evenings and weekends 

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by: 

  • Perform mold changeovers on injection molding presses according to production schedules.
  • Prepare machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment for startup and production.
  • Assist with machine startup activities following mold installation.
  • Verify molds, utilities, cooling connections, and support equipment are operating correctly.
  • Support production and process technicians during startup validation and transition to production.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance activities on molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Conduct inspections of hydraulic, pneumatic, cooling, drive, and mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and correct minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with larger repairs and improvement projects.
  • Read and interpret manuals, work instructions, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Safely operate forklifts, hoists, cranes, and material handling equipment as required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and PM records.
  • Practice and promote safety at all times.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, injection molding, tooling, or a related technical field.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, hoists, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing.
  • Ability to become certified to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Compliance with all OSHA and company safety requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade school certification or Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
  • Experience performing mold changes in an injection molding environment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes and rigging equipment.
