Job Overview
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the Hipotronics test area in Reading PA. This includes being the lead tester of Hipotronics high voltage products in the factory, while also providing production support when required. This position will also provide technical assistance to customers in the areas of installation, startup, maintenance, repair and training of high voltage test and measurement equipment.
A Day In The Life
The following roles and responsibilities will be required to fulfill the position and are not inclusive.
- Leads the Hipotronics test area, ensuring an efficient test schedule and clean, safe environment.
- Leads all production and onsite testing for GTC/Hipo manufacturing to ensure products are assembled correctly and test steps are done properly prior to final test.
- Provides technical guidance on everything in production from processing HV tanks, to providing technical support on lugging, soldering, schematic reviews, and work instructions.
- Facilitates all communication between production and engineering to make sure products are assembled and test correctly.
- Mentors and provide technical guidance for all other test technicians at the GTC Reading facility.
- Supports customers via phone and email, understand their requirements and help resolve issues.
- Supports service group by providing part numbers for quoting, ability to search BOMs in SAP and identify parts.
- Performs all final tests required to ensure that equipment operates as stipulated in engineering specifications and makes any adjustments necessary. Prepares a written report of all work performed together with test results and generates test reports.
- Performs final tests on new systems and generates corresponding test and calibration documentation that will be sent to customers.
- Perform other duties as required.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- 2-year degree in technical field required
- Preferred 5+ years’ experience with testing, troubleshooting and calibrating analog and digital control metering circuits.
- Preferred 5+ years reading schematics and working with handheld tools and test instruments.
- Travels to customers on short notice (25-30%) to provide technical assistance, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and calibrations.
- Experience interfacing with customers.
- Excellent time management, organization, communication, and prioritization capability.
- Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Occasional bending and squatting required.
- Occasional lifting required (up to 50 lbs.)
- The ability to work at heights.
