Position Overview

  • Support the sales, marketing and product management of GAI-Tronics systems, projects, and product lines.
  • Marketing support of product, promotion and training.
  • Maintain product information and pricing in the company's operating system.
  • Maintain a strong external focus on customers and markets.
  • Coordinate resources in support of product lines, meeting customer requirements and corporate throughput/inventor objectives.
  • Manage the product development process.

Duties and Responsibilities

Roles & Responsibilities include the following:  

  1. Support internal customers by answering market and product related questions and publishing marketing updates.
  2. Support the Direct Sales Reps and Manufacturers' Reps by answering market and product related questions.
  3. Attend relevant trade shows to promote product lines and generate sales leads.
  4. Assist in marketing projects.
  5. Perform support activities required by the marketing/product management team.
  6. Aid in developing promotional plans for designated products.
  7. Recommend marketing ideas that will actively promote product.
  8. Support internal and external customer training.
  9. Complete departmental tasks associated with maintaining the company's operating system (SAP): Create new part numbers, part status changes and prices changes
  10. Conduct marketing research: Gather information for future product development/enhancements. Gather information to assist with market research and developments. Review customer requirements.
  11. Determine market requirements and associated pricing.
  12. Communicate customer needs and product enhancements vis the Product Requirements Specifications (PRS) process.
  13. Define new uses for existing products.
  14. Coordinate proposed changes to the product line (enhancements, obsolescence, etc.) while being cognizant of the needs of the customer and the business.
  15. Work with sales management to develop an effective sales strategy for the product line and enable attainment of the most profitable market share levels.
  16. Support customer service, sales representatives, and internal technical support personnel with product information, answering questions and publishing "Product Flashes" and "Application Bulletins".
  17. Actively participate in the Product Development process for new products. Promote the setting of realistic project goals by the team and the successful completion of those goals by each responsible member.  Keep the project focused on the needs of the customer as defined by the Product Requirement Specification. Actively promote the project to completion with the agreed timetable. 
  18. Perform Market Research and make recommendations on: New products, Competitors' weaknesses and how to exploit them. Pricing strategies. Product offerings as compared to competition.
  19. Recommend marketing ideas (direct mail, product promotion, advertising, trade shows, etc.) to promote the product and support the sales organization.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned. 

Skills and Experience

Position Requirements:

B.S./B.A. or equivalent in Business, Marketing or English Language, technical background a plus, or a minimum of two years experience in marketing and/or sales of industrial and/or commercial products, with proven focus on the needs and requirements of the customer.
