Position Overview

Develop new product qualifications, analyze defect trends, provide component approval and regulatory agency support, conduct product audits, and investigate and evaluate customer complaints.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop new product qualification test plans in accordance with engineering specifications
  • perform life, acceptance, and first production tests.
  • Report results at periodic intervals, including: problems, areas of concern, failures.
  • Prepare inspection, test plans, and equipment requirements.
  • Understand and interpret Engineering drawings, schematics and functional specifications to develop appraisal processes that assure product quality.
  • Analyze yield trends and defect data to determine process, component, or design problems.
  • Determine process, component, or design problems. 
  • Request corrective action and follow-up to measure the effectiveness of action taken.
  • ​​​​​​​Provide quality technical support (approval/disapproval) for MDN - Material Deviation Notice, and PPR – Production Problem Report.
  • Review Engineering Notices and update test and inspection procedure to conform.
  • Provide component approval support for existing products. 
  • Provide regulatory agency support to the organization released products.
  • Audit finished goods.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and report customer complaints.

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. 
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratio’s and proportions to practical situations, SPC.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills: Must have strong Microsoft Office, e-mail and other PC application skills.
  • Problem Solving:  Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analysis information skillfully; develops alternative solutions, works well in group problem solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Project Management:  Develops project plans; coordinates projects; communicates changes and progress; completes projects on time and budget’ manages project team activities.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience. 
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or General Engineering required.
