Production Transformer Winder - Reading, PA

Job Overview

Wind and test small/large transformer/PVT coils used in a variety of high voltage test equipment and power supplies, in accordance with design specifications.

A Day In The Life

Roles & Responsibilities:  Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

1. Assist in assuring the quality of workmanship, safe operation of equipment and the use of supplies.  Guide, assist, train and participate with co-workers in the performance of all department functions.
2. Assure that all products meet the highest standard of quality.
3. Use arithmetic including decimals and fractions, specifications, and adjustable measuring instruments where interpretation is required involving basic skills knowledge.
4. Able to read a scale/ruler to within 1/32 of an inch.
5. Comprehend and follow specification sheets with the assistance of Engineering.
6. Utilize soldering and brazing techniques.
7. Understand and perform basic winding skills.
8. Prepare and cut all winding materials.
9. Set up machines in accordance with technical an safety specifications.
10. Basic knowledge of automatic winding machines and techniques used.
11. Capable of winding a variety of transformer and PVT coils
12. Capable of winding coils from engineering specification sheets.
13. Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
14. Be able to identify proper materials for production.
15. Ability to operate a pallet jack and/or forklift.
16. Ability to setup and run machine(s) for production.
17. Must understand measurements using standard devices.
18. Ability to operate a hoist properly and safely.
19. Building of winding mandrels.
20. Promotes a safe working environment and follows all established Company Safety Policies, Procedures and Practices.
21. Adhere to all company rules and policies.
22. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
