Job Overview

The Engineering Technician supports Engineering, Specialty Test, and Manufacturing operations by performing hands‑on technical work, equipment troubleshooting, testing, and documentation. This role applies practical engineering principles to assist in the design, development, installation, and improvement of equipment, processes, and systems. The Engineering Technician collaborates closely with engineers, operators, and cross‑functional teams to ensure reliable and fully functional systems are shipped to our customers.


 

A Day In The Life

  • Evaluate customer technical specifications
  • Determine feasibility of system integration and custom product designs
  • Attend project meetings as required
  • Develop step-by-step test procedures for custom products
  • Setup, configure, and program custom PAGA systems
  • Generate Installation, Operation and Maintenance documents for custom products & systems
  • Provide technical support for procurement of components to address lead-time and obsolescence issues
  • Provide technical support during production of custom products
  • Implement in-process design changes as required
  • Provide technical support during testing and troubleshooting of custom products.
  • Prepare Factory Acceptance Test Procedures

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Two-year Technician Program Degree or Associates Degree in either Electronic Technology or Electronic Engineering required
  • GAI-Tronics product knowledge, with an emphasis on understanding communication system design and the ability to correlate to a customer's specification
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in using Windows operating system and MS Office products
  • General understanding of Computer Aided Drafting/Design

Physical Demands:

  • Required to stand; walk, stoop, kneel, crouch.  Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.  Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
