A Day In The Life
- Manage, review and analyze sales backlog and demand forecast to ensure Operations can meet customer demand
- Use combination of statistical forecasting and business input to maintain twelve month rolling forecast; lead business wide forecasting process
- Develop and manage others in the Demand Planning group to ensure alignment between
- Operations, Marketing, Engineering, Sales and Finance teams.
- Manage order fulfillment between internal manufacturing and contract manufacturers
- Work directly with Sales and support teams to provide timely lead-time estimates for new opportunities
- Liaison between product management, program management, commercial team, order entry team and materials with respect to expediting product, sales order pull-ins and priority issues to meet customer needs.
- Monitor and report on request kept, promise kept, overdue backlog, and other operations metrics.
- Manage the Operations department ERP requirements working closely with IT as required.
- Assist Purchasing with management of safety stock levels to achieve a balance between expected customer service levels and inventory targets.
- Identify, drive and support process improvement initiatives .
- Manage demand loading files for all Aclara product lines for contract manufacturers.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or supply chain operations.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within supply chain / operations planning at a manager level.
- Must have an excellent understanding of MRP and inventory control systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze large amounts of data to make sound decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and facilitation skills.
- Proven record of effectively managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite with advanced Excel skills.
Preferred - SAP or equivalent ERP experience.
- APICS Operations/Supply Chain certification or equivalent.
