A Day In The Life

Position Overview

The internship program at Aclara will primarily focus on the responsibilities within Accounting function.  The Accounting function performs the monthly financial close, monthly account analysis, account reconciliations, project accounting for our professional services functions and engineering projects, as well as special projects.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • As an intern you will apply your knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls in a large corporate environment. 
  • You will work alongside our staff accountants and accounting supervisors to learn how the accounting principles are applied in our day-to-day activities as well as our monthly financial close responsibilities, perform account analysis, prepare journal entries, and reconcile accounts.
  • We will also have several special projects at this time we anticipate you will be very involved including a conversion to SAP, warehouse and plant visits to evaluate operational effectiveness, engineering project investment analysis, fixed asset verifications, and fixed asset investment analysis for their return on investment.

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, completed at least intermediate-level accounting classes by Summer 2023
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
