Position Overview

Design and implement customer variants/specials. Plan and implement engineering change request for new product development and continuous improvement projects.        

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Execute all elements of customer-specified specials including:

  • Coordinate engineering reviews
  • Prioritize and lead production implementation
  • Add options to the Variant Configurator (VC) as appropriate
  • Manage CSA file additions including coordination with test lab
  • Update/create models, drawings & SAP material
  • BOM entry
  • Build prototypes/samples as needed

 

Maintain legacy product including:

  • Handle engineering change requests and notification process by interfacing with other functional groups including engineering, sales, project services, customer service and manufacturing
  • Participate in Value Engineering for legacy products and follow projects through launch
  • Initiate/Create design control documentation
  • Assist with approving/validating purchased materials when switching vendors
  • Coordinate resolution of problem reports and change requests to product configuration documents
  • Lead product phase in/phase out to minimize cost and service impact

 

Organizational Support:

  • Provide support for customer service, quotes and factory as needed
  • Address QC issues on factory floor
  • Assist with tech support

 

Other:

  • Assume additional responsibilities as required

 

Skills and Experience

  • CAD experience
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to create documents and visuals to communicate change to the organization
  • Materials experience and/or product knowledge desirable

Education

Bachelors Degree in Engineering General
