Position Overview
Perform a variety of tasks associated with order processing work including close interaction with customers on order clarification and coordination of all departments to ensure all projects' ship accurately.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process project orders carefully and expeditiously. This includes establishing a bill of material, assigning accurate material codes and/or configurations in the SAP VC, assessing accurate breakdown of parts and processing into SAP.
- Interact with customers, Regional VP’s and Sales Managers and all departments, identifying order/project requirements.
- Act as a customer advocate at Specials-Review-Group (SRG) meetings to determine feasibility of accepting special application work
- Resolve any disputes between our capabilities and commitments to customers.
- Handle large projects with multiple products and review all documents to resolve any changes.
- Work closely with Engineering to provide accurate documentation to the customer for custom tech sheets, submittals, bills of material and ETO’s
- Own the final review of all documentation prior to release into manufacturing.
- Maintain consistent follow up with rep agencies regarding orders waiting for clarification, drawing approvals and any other issues prohibiting an order from being released into manufacturing.
- Provide an accounting of the value of each order
- Confirm accurate pricing, commission and overage levels and if it changes in any way, resolve appropriate commission is paid.
Skills and Experience
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to retain and recall information quickly.
- Mechanical or technical aptitude with strong math skills is crucial.
- Flexibility in looking after customers, under sometimes stressful conditions and a professional demeanor with strong verbal and written communication skills are crucial.
- Computer proficiency; basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
- Experience with an ERP/MRP system is desired. Experience in SAP is a plus.
