Position Overview

This role will lead a team with focus on planning, implementing and leading product marketing strategy to achieve growth and profitability for Litecontrol, a division of Hubbell.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for staffing, training, organization, productivity and general management of the department.
  • Responsible for budget preparation and subsequent control of budget for assigned functions.
  • Participate in strategic and business planning functions including product strategies, workforce requirements, and expense and capital budget proposals.
  • Review project/product scope with associated value propositions to ensure they support business initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations on investment for existing products or solutions based on return on investment.
  • Guide the team through all phases of product life cycle to include conceptualization, development, margin position, VEA alignment to discontinuance.
  • Report project status as needed to management and take all vital steps to maintain project schedules.
  • Provide guidance for product specification development.
  • Work in close alignment with Marcom on product launch and commercialization into the market.
  • Help define and maintain product roadmaps.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
Skills and Experience
  • Plan and coordinate department activity/workload.
  • Evaluate and plan for personnel requirements.
  • Lead employee personnel requirements.
  • Lead employee performance, objectives and IDP's.
  • Complete performance evaluations.

 

Encourage growth, development and training of staff

  • Ensure that employees perform work safely.

 

Provide technical basis for new product develop investment decisions

  • Ensure that new business opportunities and proposals are quantified in terms of cost and timeframe.

 

Participate in annual business strategy

  • Set annual department objectives in conformance and business plan.
  • Establish and handle annual operating budget.
  • Establish and manage capital equipment budget.
  • Reporting as appropriately outlined.

 

Required Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) Marketing or related work experience.
  • Five or more years' experience in product management, preferably lighting industry.
  • Experience in partner relationships and collaborating with marketing and engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and achieve goals in a fast-paced environment.
Education
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Management
