Job Overview
Provides all proactive support for Hubbell Canada Sales Representatives through pricing activities, analysis and profitability within an assigned geographic area or market. The position is intended to drive new business while effectively supporting the existing customer base. This position reports to the Manager, Pricing and Quotations.
A Day In The Life
Responsible for reviewing and creating bill of materials from specifications and preparing appropriate quotation.
Establish bill of material cross referencing competitive product when required.
Promotes and maintains personalized proactive service for all internal and external customers.
Acquires and maintains a high level of knowledge of the products assigned.
Acquires and maintains a high level of knowledge of competitive product and pricing levels.
Provides attentive follow up to distributors and end users concerning issued quotations and new product opportunities.
Resolves customer opportunity issues in conjunction with the FSRs.
Prepares and distributes weekly quotation won/lost reports, outstanding quotes reports.
Maintains database and ensures that information sent to business system is accurate and current.
Works with RSM and FSR to determine into stock pricing for distributors and loads into system with corporate pricing margin objective in mind.
Monitors and maintains minimum margin standard as outlined in the corporate objectives.
Coordinate sales lead follow-up and qualification.
Builds rapport and confidence with distributors and end users.
Supplements the customer service department with technical knowledge where applicable.
Works in with Hubbell divisions to set up engineered product non variation product.
Communicates changing buying trends to marketing for further market study and action.
What will help you thrive in this role?
College certificate (minimum 2 years) – Business or Marketing
5+ Years related experience and/or training in Marketing of Electrical products or high technical aptitude
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Computer Skills: Must have strong Microsoft Office, e-mail and other PC application skills.
Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
Project Management: Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities.
Ability to determine BOM based on CAD or AGI drawings and product specifications
Exposure to the electrical industry and/or Hubbell products is a strong asset
Bilingual in French/English a definite asset.
