Job Overview
Performs a variety of accounting related duties in accordance with internal and government procedures and principles. Provides backup to the Sr Finance Coordinator for payroll and pension as required. Assists Finance department in tasks during closing periods. Administrative support to Director of Finance and to Finance Dept. Requires a high degree of accuracy and exposure to confidential information. Must maintain knowledge of current payroll legislation.
Requires a high degree of independence, organization and pro-activeness to ensure office/admin functions are operating as desired.
A Day In The Life
- Responsible for ensuring all deadlines and deliverables are met
- Backup to Senior Finance Coordinator in payroll & pension activities as required
- Administers fleet plan for Hubbell Canada
- Calculates taxable benefits on company automobiles.
- Processes AP invoice to third party vendor and follows up on discrepancies
- Assists Senior Cost Analyst/GL Accountant/Senior Financial Analyst and other tasks assigned by Finance Manager
- Provides administrative assistance to Director of Finance and Finance Dept. as required
- Maintains the corporate retention program in Pickering
- Ensures approvals and coding of invoice completed and scans documents to US for processing.
- Perform other ad hoc requests as assigned
What will help you thrive in this role?
- University graduate or equivalent. (Business or Finance)
- Minimum 3-5 years business related experience
- In-depth knowledge of payroll functions and legislation.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Applications and ADP payroll system (Pay@Work and/or Workforce Now)
- Experience in SAP/ERP Preferred
