Job Overview

Responsible for the Western Region (BC, AB, SK and MB) within an assigned geographic territory, for the sales of business unit products and services. Development of strong relationships with customers and distribution sales teams and grow sales in the district.  The District Manager is a district‑level sales leader and working manager whose greatest impact comes from owning key end‑user relationships and translating regional priorities into a clear and actionable district plan. The DM is accountable for end‑user engagement within the district and becomes directly involved where that level of leadership adds value, while still maintaining meaningful engagement with distribution partners through activities such as regional reviews and target account planning. The role is responsible for district planning and execution and reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager. 

A Day In The Life

Roles & Responsibilities:


1.    Sales Responsibilities
a.    Develop a strong network of contractors and end users 
b.    Apply product features and benefits to provide value add solutions 
c.    Develop strong channel relationships and identify stock opportunities to National Account team.
d.    Apply product features and benefits to provide value add solutions to customers
e.    Support price realization in the marketplace
f.    Manage the sales cycle on projects from specification to successful order placement
g.    Execute promotional, training and new product initiatives
h.    Collaborate with other Hubbell Canada ULC sales people in other Business Units to expand sales
i.    Report activity through SalesForce

2.    Sales Management Responsibilities - Joint Responsibilities with Regional Manager
a.    Mentor and train team of sales professionals
b.    Ensure effective time management among the sales team in concert with strategic direction
c.    Maintain a healthy Sales Funnel in the district.
d.    Drive sales team to maximize margin 
e.    Establish and maintain professional standards within team
f.    Be the main contact and drive sales programs with key District channel partners
g.    Ensure expenses are managed effectively
h.    Drive use of SalesForce and all other sales and marketing provided tools

3.    Metrics and Reporting
a.    Daily, weekly, monthly reporting as required
b.    Performance to quota planning and execution
c.    Price Realization

4.    Represent HubbellCanada ULC professionally
a.    Integrity and Ethics

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university – Business, Marketing or Sales 
6 years minimum of either year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient computer skills
Valid Driver’s license required -  40 to 60% Travel required within the Western Region  

 

Preferred Skills:
Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Must have strong Microsoft Office, e-mail, sales force and other PC application skills.

Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions.

Works well in group problem solving situations.
