The Saw Operator is responsible for operating various saws and cutting equipment to fabricate metal components with precision and efficiency.

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:

  • Operating saws and other cutting equipment to fabricate metal components according to specifications.
  • Performing routine maintenance on saws and related equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilizing hand tools and machinery such as press brake machines, lathes, plasma cutting, and laser cutting for fabrication tasks.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to determine cutting requirements.
  • Collaborating with team members to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards.
  • Conducting quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Assisting in programming machinery for automated cutting processes when necessary.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety guidelines.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Proven experience as a Saw Operator or in a similar machining role.
  • Proficiency in operating various saws and fabrication equipment.
  • Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication techniques and processes.
  • Experience with hand tools, press brake machines, lathes, plasma cutting, or laser cutting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Commitment to workplace safety practices.
