The Material Handler plays a critical role in warehouse operations by ensuring materials are handled efficiently, accurately, and safely. This position supports shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes while operating material-handling equipment in compliance with safety standards.
A Day In The Life
Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks to load and unload materials
- Using RF scanners for inventory management and order picking
- Performing heavy lifting and handling materials in compliance with OSHA regulations
- Assisting with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment while following safety protocols
- Collaborating with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and efficiency
- Conducting routine equipment inspections to ensure proper functionality
- Participating in training sessions for heavy equipment operation as needed
What will help you thrive in this role?
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution or material handling (preferred)
- Familiarity with order picking processes and warehouse management systems (preferred)
- Experience operating forklifts and other heavy equipment
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse operations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Basic computer skills for inventory and documentation tasks
