Job Overview
The Maintenance Crafts performs a variety of maintenance tasks to assist the Continuous Imporvements department.
A Day In The Life
- Perform light fabrication work including welding (MIG/stick), cutting, and drilling to build or modify equipment, fixtures, and structures
- Operate a chopsaw and other cutting tools safely and accurately
- Perform light electrical work such as running conduit, wiring outlets/switches, and troubleshooting basic circuits (within scope of training/certification)
- Hang signage and fixtures from factory ceilings, including working at height using ladders, lifts, or scaffolding
- Install rack guards, bollards, and other protective equipment anchored into concrete using appropriate tools (hammer drill, anchor systems)
- Paint aisleways and safety zones, apply floor markings according to facility standards (e.g., 5S, OSHA)
- Perform routine maintenance on floor scrubbers and other facility equipment (cleaning, battery checks, brush/pad replacement, basic troubleshooting)
- Maintain proper labeling and color-coding of pipes per facility and regulatory standards (e.g., ANSI/OSHA pipe marking)
- Assemble project items, fixtures, and equipment as needed to support CI and facility projects
- Assist with layout changes and workstation modifications to support Lean/CI projects
- Perform general facility maintenance and repairs as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, and hot work permits
- Support CI Manager with project execution, kaizen events, and process improvement implementation
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and maintenance logs

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school training a plus
- 1–3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, fabrication, or a related field
- Working knowledge of welding techniques (MIG/stick) and metal fabrication
- Basic to intermediate electrical knowledge and safe work practices
- Experience with concrete anchoring/drilling equipment
- Comfortable working at heights and operating lifts (scissor/boom) — certification a plus
- Basic mechanical/equipment maintenance experience (e.g., powered floor equipment)
- Familiarity with pipe marking/labeling standards a plus
- Ability to read basic blueprints, work orders, or sketches, and assemble items from instructions or drawings
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel and work at heights for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a factory/industrial environment with various temperatures and noise Levels
Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 10/30
- Forklift/Aerial lift certification
- Welding certification (not always required, but a plus)
