Job Overview
- Responsible for training welders to meet API1104 standards.
- Responsible for training welders in the safe and efficient operation of the Welding equipment, how to properly adjust the welding machines to achieve the desired weld profiles to ensure quality parts are produced safely and in a timely manner.
A Day In The Life
- Trainer will be required to set up, adjust machines, and equipment to produce an acceptable quality product.
- Will receive instructions, prints, and route sheets for the job. Will review blueprints with the welders prior to job startup and ensure parts are produced to meet specifications.
- Perform any required quality tests, and hold all required welding certifications applicable to the department,
- Trainer will perform quality checks as well as visual weld inspections to ensure processes are being followed and parts are produced to meet specifications.
- Trainer will be required to help welders make routine equipment adjustments to ensure the welding process is achieving proper penetration and weld profile.
- Will be required to manually weld production parts as directed by his/her supervisor.
- Trainer will need to know how to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, handheld grinders, plasma cutters and other welding equipment within the department.
- Must keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.
- Must be able to work as a team.

- Complete Welder Training logs as needed.
- Report inventory use as required.
- Able to lift 35 pounds, consistently.
- Ability to work 10 hours per day and weekends as required.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Background check and drug-screen are required.
- Must be qualified and previous experience as a Certified Welder or its equivalent, either in position or be certified by a technical institute.
- Operator will be required to pass all of the applicable Welding Certification Tests per Company Welding Policy.
- Must be able to satisfactorily use calipers, tape measures, welding gauges, and other measuring devices.
