Job Overview
The RMA Technician is responsible for coordinating and processing returned products within the AIS Business Unit. This role manages the Return Material Authorization (RMA) process from receipt through inspection, repair coordination, shipment, and closure. The RMA Technician serves as a liaison between production, quality, engineering, customer service, and other cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of returned products while maintaining accurate records and supporting customer satisfaction.
A Day In The Life
Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:
- Manage RMAs from receipt through final disposition, shipment, and closure.
- Receive, inspect, document, and process returned products and components.
- Maintain accurate RMA records and tracking information within company systems.
- Review and prioritize open RMAs to ensure timely completion and customer response.
- Coordinate repair, rework, testing, and inspection activities with production, quality, and engineering teams.
- Perform visual and functional inspections of returned products to verify repairs and readiness for release.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to product returns, repairs, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate outbound shipments, including shipping documentation and tracking information.
- Assist in identifying recurring product issues, failure trends, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Utilize ERP and business systems to track materials, production status, and RMA activity.
- Support production and repair operations as needed to meet business demands.
- Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- High school diploma or GED required; technical education or certifications preferred.
- Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing, repair, electronics, electromechanical assembly, service, or related environment.
- Experience with product returns, troubleshooting, repair processes, or RMA management preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to safely lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical activities including standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the workday.
