Job Overview

The Advanced Assembler II is responsible for independently assembling, testing, and troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical products and subassemblies according to engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, work instructions, quality standards, and production requirements. This position serves as a subject matter resource within the assembly area and is expected to support quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring products meet customer and company specifications.

A Day In The Life

  • Assemble complex mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical products and subassemblies according to engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, routings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and production documentation to ensure accurate assembly and product quality.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using measuring devices and visual inspection techniques.
  • Verify component fit, wiring, and functionality; identify and correct assembly issues as needed.
  • Troubleshoot assembly and product issues and work with supervisors, engineering, quality, and production support personnel to resolve problems.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, assembly fixtures, presses, and other manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Train and assist less experienced assemblers on assembly processes, procedures, and quality expectations.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality, and safety documentation as required.
  • Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Four or more years of manufacturing assembly experience, preferably involving mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical products.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently assemble and troubleshoot complex products and assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Ability to accurately read and use measuring devices, including rulers and tape measures.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, assembly fixtures, and other manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform inspections, identify defects, and verify product quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide guidance or training to less experienced team members.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and effectively solve problems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 30 pounds and perform physical activities including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions throughout the workday.
