Job Overview

Hubbell is looking for a highly skilled and experienced technical project manager leading large scale PLM implementations.  The PLM implementation is a strategic multi-year investment which will continue to be developed and integrated into Hubbell’s technology landscape for years to come.  As with any large investment this project has significant visibility at all levels requiring strong communication skills & executive presence.  Your expertise in managing complex enterprise programs, strong change management skills, and deep knowledge of engineering tools and processes will be critical to the success of our organization.

A Day In The Life

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale engineering-focused IT projects across the enterprise starting with PLM, ensuring they meet quality standards and are completed within time and budget.
  • Develop and implement program and project management frameworks and methodologies in support of Hubbell’s IT Program Management Process to ensure consistent success in project delivery.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors, to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables in support of the Engineering IT Strategic Roadmap.
  • Work with the PLM Architect & Engineering Delivery team which will provide the governance framework to ensure key standards are being met.
  • Monitor and evaluate project performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery and develop contingency plans as necessary.
  • Prepare and present detailed project reports and updates to senior management, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Manage external vendors and contracts for engineering-focused applications, implementations, operations support, and technical services.
  • Manage the licensing and cost allocation for engineering-focused applications.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to facilitate smooth transition and adoption of new IT systems and processes.
  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership to project managers and teams under your supervision, fostering a high-performance culture.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in enterprise-wide IT program management, with a focus on PLM as well as other engineering tools and processes, including multiple-integration systems.
  • Proven track record in successfully leading and delivering complex IT engineering projects within established timelines and budgets.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering tools and processes, including product definition management, change management, and requirements management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization including C-Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to set realistic objectives, accurately appraise situations, detect risks, and adapt to changes in priorities.
  • Experience in change management and driving organizational adoption of new IT systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology, ideally Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is highly desirable.
