Job Overview

As an early member of the Hubbell Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE) in Wilmington, MA, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the performance and safety of our manufacturing facility, ensuring the reliability of our equipment and infrastructure, and providing oversight of safety and environmental initiatives and standards. We are an entrepreneurial team building a new manufacturing facility and as such everyone is expected to wear multiple hats and help wherever is needed. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in facility management, maintenance engineering, environmental health & safety (EHS), and a strong understanding of manufacturing environments. We are looking for someone who excels in a dynamic role, effectively balancing multiple responsibilities across different areas of facility operations, maintenance, and logistics.

A Day In The Life

Maintenance:  

  • Oversee and manage the maintenance of all facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and manufacturing equipment. 
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the continuous operation of all facility systems and equipment. 
  • Coordinate and supervise maintenance activities, including repairs, installations, and upgrades of equipment and facility systems. 
  • Monitor and maintain facility infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations. 
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to minimize downtime and improve the efficiency of production processes. 
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers for facility maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. 
  • Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues related to facility systems and equipment. 
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and facility inspections. 

Safety: 

  • Oversight of safety and environmental programs, such as, monthly reporting, statistics, and any necessary incident investigations, including workers compensation cases management.  
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies in facility and maintenance operations. 
  • Provide EHS training to employees with the primary objective of eliminating workplace injuries and maintaining facility safety and compliance. 
  • Create and manage Chemical Safety programs and drive compliance with regulatory agencies and Hubbell-specific requirements. 
  • Coordinate activities with business unit and Corporate EHS managers, and onsite personnel (e.g. Safety Committee). 

Other Facility Duties:  

  • Participate in facility planning and improvement projects, including layout changes, equipment upgrades, and expansion initiatives.  
  • Oversee shipping, receiving, and scheduling operations to ensure efficient material flow and timely deliveries.   
  • Assist with post-processing, 3D printing operations, and QA/QC, as time allows. 
     

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • 5+ years of experience in facility management, maintenance engineering, or a related role within a manufacturing environment. 
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment. 
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance management software. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex facility and equipment issues. 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. 
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations related to facility and maintenance operations. 
  • Experience in additive manufacturing, energy management and sustainability initiatives, and/or start-up environments is a plus. 
  • Certification in facilities management (e.g., CFM, FMP) or maintenance (e.g., CMRP) preferred but not required.  
  • Certification in OSHA compliance (e.g., OSHA 30) preferred but not required
