Job Overview

This position will be responsible for Business Continuity and EHS Auditing activities reporting to the VP of Environment Health and Safety.

At Hubbell, all sites are required to have a business continuity plan. The objective of a business continuity plan is to minimize downtime and property loss and help protect the organization if all or part of its operations are affected. Hubbell is seeking a Business Continuity Manager supporting enterprise-wide business continuity planning and EHS auditing activities.

This role is for a data-driven, analytical mind who thrives on optimizing processes and leading teams. This role will play a key role in identifying strengths and weaknesses and will partner with other business leaders to develop, maintain, implement, and continually strengthen disaster recovery, EHS compliance and business continuity strategies.

A Day In The Life

The individual will routinely interface with multiple functions including but not limited to Operations, Finance, IT, Internal Audit, Legal, Risk Management, Procurement Human Resources and 3rd party vendors, and will be expected to:

  • Own business continuity program oversight and coordination

  • Develop and maintain business continuity plans with responsible business site leaders to minimize downtime, and property loss, and to ensure continued operation in the event of an emergency or disaster

  • Perform business continuity plan reviews that evaluate plan effectiveness, coordinate revisions, and recommend appropriate response and recovery practices where needed

  • Identify opportunities for strategic improvement or mitigation of business interruption and other risks caused by business, regulatory, or industry-specific change initiatives

  • Partner with business site leaders to periodically test business continuity plans

  • Design or implement protocols to mitigate risk or facilitate use of technology-based tools and methods

  • Periodically deliver training on the requirements of Hubbell’s Business Continuity Planning Policy

  • Prioritize and organize the EHS audit function.  This will include training and certifying auditors, scheduling and tracking of action items

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and identify potential roadblocks, proactively developing mitigation strategies

  • Prepare clear and concise reports for senior leadership highlighting key trends and actionable insights

  • Monitor project progress closely, track key metrics, and report deviations or variances from plans

  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in BCP and EHS, sharing valuable insights with the team

  • 50% travel required

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., EHS, business, accounting, finance, or related degree)
  • A minimum of 7-10 years with 5+ in business continuity planning
  • Excellent skills in organization, active listening, and detail-orientation, along with strong written / verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI, Python)
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and modeling software (e.g., Excel,)
  • Excellent root cause, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
