Division Overview:
Hubbell Commercial & Industrial (HCI) provides solutions for a broad range of non-residential and residential construction, commercial and industrial applications along with high-voltage test and measurement solutions. Position Overview:


  • This position is an integral part of the marketing, sales and service efforts through accurate identification and prompt response to customer and internal inquiries concerning division’s products, product applications and standards conformance. Requires an analytical and personable individual with extensive knowledge of industry standards, HPW and competitor’s products who can work with customers and the division’s sales force to identify product applications and system solutions, as well as qualify potential sales opportunities. Position also requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail for assistance with the development of “spec text”, catalogs, product data sheets and MDA responsibilities. Inaccuracies in verbal or written communications can result in customer dissatisfaction, incorrect installations, product returns and customer labor charge reimbursements.
  • Position reports to Director, Customer Service and Sales Support.
  •  The internal relationships include, but are not limited to:
    • Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Marketing Services, Field Sales, Inside Sales, National Accounts, Operations, Manufacturing, Finance, HUBs and other Hubbell Companies.
  • The external relationships will consist of:
    • Frequent contact with distributors, end users, installers, architects, specification engineers, Premise cable partners, IDW, standards agencies and designated suppliers.
Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage the efforts of the Tech Services Department to provide technical and applications support to all Premise customer and field/inside sales inquiries relative to products and their applications and the telecommunications industry standards. Requires maintaining an expertise on Premise (self manufacture and PFR) as well industry products/applications/standards. In addition to this ongoing technical support.
  • Manage the response to all product quality complaints; trouble shoot initial call to determine applicable action, coordinate the formal complaint process with Inside Sales, work with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Product Management departments towards complaint resolution/corrective action. Develop and issue formal response back to the customer.
  •  Manage the Division’s IDW data including active involvement in any issues and new requirements. Includes the responsibility for maintaining attribute data.  
  • Manage the Master Data responsibilities for ECN tracking and the development and maintenance of division Basic Data, Sales Organization views and all standard and specialty Price Data. This includes maintaining a central file of orders for items pending available for sale status, tracking the ECN, expediting rush ECNs, identifying and assigning appropriate product industry codes and verifying all Material Master and Cost data for accuracy.
  • Conduct review and clean up of Master Data twice annually.
Skills and Experience:


  • The candidate should have a four- year degree in Telecommunications or ME, EE (or a related field), with Marketing orientation or a minimum of five years work experience in the Telecommunications industry. RCDD certification is preferred.
  • The candidate must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communications skills are required for significant customer interface on product design/applications/standards issues and recognition of sales opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and Power Point is required.
  • Proficiency in SAP Order and Material Management is required.
  • Proficiency in SAP TX shuttle is preferred.
