Position Overview

The Burndy Sr. Financial Analyst serves as a key member of the Hubbell finance team supporting 4 sites within the Burndy US business unit. This role reports to the Burndy Director of Finance in Manchester, NH and interfaces regularly with the Group Controller and Vice President of Finance. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for leading  M&A and new business unit integration activity and other projects simultaneously while ensuring that the internal customer requirements are satisfied on a regular basis.  Partners with the Finance and Operations functions to ensure the delivery of value-added financial analysis and accounting support that leads to accurate and timely financial reporting and decision-making.   

Reports directly to Burndy Director of Finance.   

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Finance lead on present and future M&A activity (including due diligence, purchase accounting, integration activities, project management) and other projects.
  • Ability to analyze and make assessments of financial statements, internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Implementation of policies, procedures, and SOX Controls.
  • Principally responsible for the financial integration and oversight of acquisitions post close.
  • Ability to travel as necessary and within reason to potential & pending acquisitions, or other Hubbell & related sites.
  • Ability to effectively interact with Hubbell stakeholders remotely via video conference using company provided equipment as appropriate
  • Ensures that financial reporting and related processes are designed and executed in accordance with GAAP and the Company’s Accounting Policies & Procedures.
  • Support key financial system implementations including SAP and financial consolidation packages such as Hyperion and OneStream
  • Drives increased productivity, simplifies processes and reduces cost through automation, standardization and control enhancement.
  • Ability to work across all levels of an organization and to be able to effectively communicate to influence change.
  • Oversees the monthly preparation of account reconciliations and journal entries using a web-based application (Blackline)
  • Assists in preparing analysis, commentary and presentation materials for monthly and quarterly financial review meetings.
  • Completes ad hoc financial information requests and various special projects as needed
  • Support internal and external audit activity as necessary and oversee timely remediation of any findings or follow up items
Skills and Experience
  • CPA and/or MSA/MBA preferred
  • 5+ Years of finance/accounting, preferably within a global manufacturing company
  • Demonstrated record of success in a variety of progressive finance | accounting roles
  • Project Management experience desired
  • Previous hands on experience with acquisition due diligence and integration highly desired
  • Ability to effectively identify, diagnose and communicate the impact of complex transactions to the company’s leadership team.
  • Experience implementing and/or maintaining SOX controls in a publicly traded company environment
  • Understanding of US GAAP, transactional accounting within a manufacturing company model and with a monthly accounting close process
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and PowerPoint presentation skills
  • HFM (Hyperion Financial Management), OneStream or other financial consolidation package and SAP experience desired
  • Expert working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven ability to work well with others in a diverse organization.
  • Highly organized with an ability to work well under tight time constraints.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
