Position Overview

This person will be dedicated to ThermOweld and any future acquisitions.  Under general supervision, this person performs diversified inspection of production parts, such as Request for Inspection, First Piece, receiving of raw materials, final proof sampling, etc. to ensure confirmance with Burndy specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities

Must read and understand Burndy product drawings and specifications

Perform detailed (FPIR/PSIR/QCIP) on items that are newly produced Burndy products or parts

Make visual inspections checking material or product for surface defects

Performs in-process and sampling inspections of parts and assemblies

Uses all types of inspection equipment to test products, obtain measurements and document findings

Create and manage notifications in SAP to document defective parts.

Use Microsoft Word and Excel as necessary for creating/maintaining detailed inspection documents and data records as required.

Maintain relevant Thermoweld files in enterprise software.  Eventually able to create an ECO in new SAP platform.

Understand and follow the Burndy Quality Manual.

Performs other duties as required.

Skills and Experience

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to work with Production and Engineering personnel to find solutions to quality/process related problems while satisfactorily performing the duties and responsibilities listed above.

Education and/or Experience

One year certificate from college or technical school or six to twelve months related experience testing raw materials and production parts for acceptance and approval.  See Skills and Experience above.
