Job Overview

The Plant Accountant will serve as an expert in quantitative and qualitative variance analysis while working closely with the plant operations and management teams. The overall mission of this role is to identify and interpret data to help the organization make effective operational decisions that contribute to overall profitability. 

A Day In The Life

•    Oversee annual budgeting and month-end forecasts, creating and presenting to corporate stakeholders.
•    Responsible for conducting & root-causing production variance and aging workorder analysis, developing corrective actions and communicating to corporate stakeholders.
•    Primary approver on all plant expenses, working on identifying and implementing cost saving initiatives.
•    Working alongside legal team managing site contracts.
•    Collaborate with departments on developing and presenting capital project proposals.
•    Assist with ad-hoc Accounts Payable tasks.
•    Lead the site annual Physical Inventory
•    Responsible for conducting & root-causing inventory variance analysis, developing corrective actions, and obtaining requiring corporate approvals for adjustments.
•    Working with central accounting team to manage fixed asset acquisition, maintenance, and disposals.
•    Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring site compliance with SOX requirements and internal controls. Site lead on several internal corporate controls.
•    Assist Plant Manager and operations team with ad hoc analysis as needed and routine reporting

What will help you thrive in this role?

•    2+ years related experience working for a manufacturing company with a fully integrated ERP system, preferably SAP.
•    BS Degree in Finance or related field.
•    Prior experience leading group projects.
•    Must be strong in Excel.
•    Highly organized with an ability to work well under tight time constraints.
•    Strong ability to communicate technical accounting materials to non-accountants
•    Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
