Job Overview
The Industrial Custodian helps with daily operations, ensures inventory availability, and helps maintain all equipment. Main areas of responsibilities will be working and cleaning, or restoring the production floor including but not limited to; industrial machines/ machinery, floors, walls, ceiling fans, vents, all storage areas.
A Day In The Life
Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by:
- Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish
- Operate industrial cleaning equipment and machines
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Handle and store cleaning supplies and chemicals in a safe manner
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
- Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems
What will help you thrive in this role?
- High School Diploma (required)
- Experience with facilities maintenance (required)
- Experience or Certification in chemicals and hazardous materials is required
- Must have the ability to stand, sit, bend, lift, push, pull regularly over an 8-10 hour work day.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
- Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets
- Integrity and ability to work independently
