Position Overview

Concentration of approximately 60% electrical work and 40% mechanical, but duties may shift at the needs of the facility. Self-motivated is a must.

Repairs minor electrical problems under the supervision of the plant electrician. Perform inspections and maintenance on electrical systems to ensure safety and functionality. Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps. Repair electrical issues by replacing or installing components, wiring or devices. Use ladders, scaffolding, platform, and lifts to work on electrical systems.

Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.

Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Adjusts functional parts of devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. Repairs or replaces defective parts.  

Installs special functional, structural, or electrical parts in devices. Starts devices to test their performance.

Uses meters, welding equipment, machine tools and hand tools to repair machinery and equipment throughout the facility. Tests electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters, oscilloscopes and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system and to ensure compatibility.

Does general maintenance work such as electrical, routine plumbing, carpentry, painting, and preventative maintenance as needed.

Initiates Material order requests for parts and machines.  

Performs other related duties as required. May be required to work overtime, weekends as needed.
