Job Overview

As a Product Engineer within our Enclosures Engineering team, you will join a group that will support the future infrastructure, construction, and development that is starting to grow across North America. Hubbell underground and above ground engineered enclosures has been the industry leader for more than 40 years and we are seeking an innovative and skilled engineer that has demonstrated abilities to design mechanical and structural products. Working in a diverse and cross-functional team environment you will design robust and cost-effective solutions for electric utilities, commercial and industrial applications, communications, as well as water and gas systems. A successful team member will not only design new products but will also interact and provide support to manufacturing operations, product marketing, sales, and customer support to achieve our business objectives.

A Day In The Life

•    Design and support of polymer concrete, fiberglass, and plastic enclosures.
•    Research and develop innovative ideas and concepts for new enclosure products and processes.
•    Define enclosure specifications, validation criteria, failure modes and effects, and proper applications.
•    Create and introduce improvements to enhance designs, performance, and costs of existing products.
•    Concept, prototype, validate, and create new enclosures, enclosure molds, and design modifications.
•    Identify, support, and initiate quality and safety improvements.
•    Support customer inquiries, custom design requests, sales opportunities, and customer applications.
•    Provide technical knowledge for creation of test procedures, manufacturing of products, and data assessment.

What will help you thrive in this role?

•    4-year degree in Engineering. Composite, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering degree preferred.
•    Demonstrated experience in product development, design, or a related field. 
•    Experience in a continuous improvement manufacturing environment. 
•    Experience in using CAD based design software with Finite Element Analysis modeling. 
•    Excellent MS Office applications skills
