The Sales Analyst / Inside Sales representative is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and helping secure new business opportunities within the water utility box market. This role serves as a strategic partner to the outside sales team by monitoring upcoming municipal, utility, residential development, and infrastructure projects, analyzing market trends, tracking opportunities, and coordinating efforts to maximize win rates.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with a proactive sales approach, leveraging market intelligence, project tracking, customer relationships, and sales data to drive revenue growth and expand market share.

A Day In The Life

Opportunity Identification & Market Analysis
•    Research and track upcoming water utility, municipal infrastructure, commercial development, and residential construction projects.
•    Identify opportunities for water meter boxes, valve boxes, access covers, and related utility infrastructure products.
•    Analyze project plans, bid documents, specifications, and construction forecasts to identify potential sales opportunities.
•    Work with Product Manager to monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer developments to uncover new business prospects.
•    Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities through continuous market surveillance and project tracking.


Sales Support & Inside Sales Activities
•    Partner with Territory Managers to develop strategies that position the company to win identified opportunities.
•    Qualify leads and coordinate follow-up activities with the field sales team.
•    Assist sales in preparing quotations, bids, pricing recommendations, and sales proposals.
•    Support bid management processes and ensure timely submission of required information.
Sales Analytics & Reporting
•    Maintain CRM data and ensure accurate tracking of opportunities, customer interactions, and project status.
•    Generate sales reports, pipeline analyses, and forecast data to support business planning.
•    Work with Product Manager to analyze conversion rates, market penetration, and opportunity win/loss results.
•    Provide recommendations to improve sales effectiveness and market coverage.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
•    Work closely with engineering, operations, product management, customer service, and marketing teams to support customer and project requirements.
•    Coordinate internal resources to address customer requests and secure project approvals.
•    Support product launches, market initiatives, and strategic growth programs.

Required Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Construction Management, Analytics, or a related field.
•    2-5 years of experience in sales support, inside sales, business development, market analysis, or commercial operations.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
•    Experience utilizing CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot, or similar systems.
•    Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
•    Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
•    Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications
•    Experience in water utility infrastructure, underground utility products, municipal sales, construction materials, or building products industries.
•    Familiarity with project lead services such as Citylitics, Dodge Construction Network, ConstructConnect, BidNet, or municipal bidding platforms.
•    Knowledge of public utilities, water distribution systems, and municipal procurement processes.
•    Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.
•    Understanding of specification-driven and project-based sales processes.
