Job Overview
The Product Engineer supports the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of Hot Box products and related systems. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, sourcing, product management, and field service to develop innovative, cost-effective, and reliable solutions that meet customer and regulatory requirements. This role will split time between supporting part design and leading product development whether new or improvements applied to existing designs.

A Day In The Life
• Identify and lead product improvement solutions for new product development, and material cost takeouts.
• Execute the assigned design and development of Water Infrastructure products, components, and assemblies.
• Research and develop innovative ideas and concepts for changes to existing product and toward new product development efforts.
• Create and maintain CAD, Inventor, SolidWorks models, engineering drawings for existing and new products.
• Create and introduce improvements to enhance designs, performance, and costs of existing products.
• Lead prototype development, testing, validation, and performance evaluations.
• Analyze product performance and recommend design improvements for quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve design and production issues.
• Provide technical solutions to customer inquiries, custom design requests, sales opportunities, and customer application needs.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to product quality or field issues.
• Coordinate with suppliers and sourcing teams regarding component specifications and technical requirements.
• Prepare technical reports, test procedures, specifications, and engineering documentation.
• Own project planning and execution to meet product development timelines.
What will help you thrive in this role?
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 3-5 years of engineering or product design experience.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Understanding of engineering principles including thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid systems, and mechanical design.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and test data.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with backflow devices, water heating systems, plumbing products, HVAC equipment, or related thermal systems.
• Exposure to product testing and validation methodologies.
• Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
