Duties and Responsibilities
Through the use of lean engineering tools, design and optimize manufacturing processes for the improvement of existing products and introduction of new ones
Assist in developing and implementing cost reduction initiatives through continuous improvement events
Lead troubleshooting activities for various process issues that arise
As needed, lead capital projects. Responsibilities include machine selection, cell layout, financial justification, working with quality and product engineering to create and update control plans and engineering requirements, installation of equipment and production startup
Compile project update reports and present to upper management concerning project timeline and budgets
Assist the progression of the Lean Improvement plan
Facilitate and run Kaizen events and sustainment activities
Provide Lean training to engineers and management
Skills and Experience
Minimum 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering (or similar) role.
Demonstrated success in continuous improvement methodologies, including Kaizen events and sustainment activities
Demonstrated ability to change processes and culture of a shop floor environment with sustainment
Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing projects to completion
Demonstrated success in justification of capital projects
Knowledge of quality tools.
Ability to train on Lean fundamentals
Excellent communication and documentation skills
A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
