Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

Provide overall product leadership and management of particular product lines, including worldwide profit and loss.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of new markets for existing products.
  • Drive market share growth by effectively managing product line activities, including pricing, promotion, and product extensions.
  • Provide leadership for each of the product lines with respect to strategic direction and execution.
  • Generate and participate in the development of new product ideas based on market demands and sound business analysis.
  • Collaborates on and contributes to new product development, including assisting with pricing, ensuring product and technical specifications are met, product application is appropriate, and product changes are appropriate incorporated.
  • Assist customer service on product application, customer issues, and customer opportunities.
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's products to competitors' products.
  • Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product line sales forecasts and special reports and analyses, answering questions and requests.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing / Communications team on new product launches, product line promotional activities, and maintenance of product information management (PIM) data.
  • Establish and maintain a network for communication with field sales, both domestic and international.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Lead and participate in cross functional teams that include product engineering, manufacturing, scheduling, sourcing, quality departments and others.

Skills and Experience

  • BS in engineering, business, or marketing
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • New product management/extension background
  • Proactive, innovative, solution-oriented
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have proven ability to meet project objectives and timelines.
  • Must be a strong team player.
  • Must possess strong ambition, drive and motivation to succeed.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% as needed.
  • Global perspective and strong customer interaction skills
  • Fully proficient with Microsoft Office

 

Preferred:

  • SAP/BI/BE experience a plus
  • Electric Utility product experience a plus
