Job Overview
Purpose:
Will report directly to the Environment, Health and Safety Manager at Hubbell, Connectors Leeds, AL Facility. Responsibilities include inspection of work areas, department and jobs to ensure safe work practices and environmentally friendly conditions are maintained. Perform data entry, create safety related projects, and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with local, state and federal EHS regulations.
Candidate must be highly self-motivated who has a passion for safety, people, and attention to detail. Position will offer complex challenges that require in-depth data analysis, original thinking, persistence, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude.
The Hubbell Internship Program is a 10 to 12-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell.

Skills & Experience:
· Basic knowledge of safety & environmental compliance. (OSHA, RCRA, DOT)
· Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills.
· Strong organizational skills & attention to detail.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint & Forms)
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with employees across departments and all levels of the organization.
· Works well in teams & independently.
· Ability to influence others with positive, constructive communication.
· Problem solver that will collaborate with other departments to develop mutually agreeable solutions.
· Aptitude for continual learning, reads and researches relevant subject matter to maintain current knowledge and competencies in the health and safety field.
- Enrollment in an accredited university working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree related to the internship (required)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (required)
- Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred.
- Familiarity with relevant software and systems.
