Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. Position Overview

Create new and revise existing detail part drawings, sub-assemblies, final assemblies, and required CAD support for specification documents. Specialize in making 3D drawings for the parts, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create, revise & maintain 3D drawings per requests for customers and for finite element analysis (do not need to run this analysis but to provide the detailed 3D drawings).
  • Create drawings by planning arrangement of appropriate views, sections, and details as required to best describe part geometry.
  • Dimension and tolerance part drawings that may incorporate complex details.
  • Verify completed drawings against input requirements prior to submittal to engineers.
  • Create, revise, and maintain Bill of Materials in SAP system.
  • Process and complete engineering changes in a timely fashion.
  • Execute revisions on detail, assembly, and customer drawings, or engineering specification documents. Maintain the documents.
  • Participate in other associated engineering activities.

Skills and Experience

· Solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology.

· Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD packages including AutoCAD, Inventor and/or Solidworks, or other CAD software. Demonstration of existing work is required.

· Computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel).

· Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Associate degree: relevant work experience considered in lieu of degree.

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications and will be discussed during the interview process. The salary range for this role is $39,000-$49,000 per year. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
