Job Overview

The Associate Application Engineer provides technical and commercial support for distribution protection and control products, serving as a key resource for customers, customer service representatives, sales managers, field engineers, agents, and Hubbell subsidiaries. This role develops expertise in assigned product lines to assist with product application, troubleshooting, and customer support while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. The Associate Application Engineer acts as a liaison between the PCORE facility and customers, both directly and through the Hubbell Sales Organization, and collaborates with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service teams to support product promotion, business growth, and overall customer success.

A Day In The Life

• Review customer RFQs and product applications to identify and recommend PCORE products that best meet customer requirements; actively participate in the quotation and bidding process.
• Respond to customer inquiries and concerns, coordinating with Production Control, Engineering, and Marketing to develop effective solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to address technical challenges and meet customer-specific requirements.
• Monitor market trends, customer needs, and opportunities within Transformer OEMs and utility replacement markets, communicating insights to appropriate stakeholders.
• Build and maintain customer relationships through site visits, technical consultations, and product presentations that support long-term business growth.
• Support the development and implementation of pricing strategies to maximize profitability and competitiveness of bushing products.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of marketing materials, technical literature, and sales tools to support product promotion and customer education.
• Participate in industry events, customer meetings, and trade functions; prepare reports, presentations, and follow-up communications as needed.
• Maintain a strong understanding of PCORE products, applications, and industry standards to provide effective technical and commercial support.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Experience & Qualifications

  • Customer-facing experience providing technical support and solutions, with a general understanding of power distribution systems required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, General Engineering, or a related technical field preferred. An Associate degree in a technical discipline with relevant utility, manufacturing, or engineering experience may be considered.
  • Experience in the electric utility industry preferred.
  • Experience in Application Engineering, Product Engineering, Technical Sales, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex technical information to audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for customer visits, industry events, and business-related activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with SAP, Salesforce, Power BI, and PowerPoint is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications and will be discussed during the interview process. The salary range for this role is $63,300-$79,100 per year. This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
