Job Overview
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of materials, components, and equipment into and out of the organization. This role ensures accurate documentation, quality control, and timely processing using SAP ERP systems and is the team lead for the Shipping and Receiving Department.
A Day In The Life
- Shipping Duties:
- Coordinate and schedule all incoming and outgoing shipments with logistics partners and internal teams for timely dispatch.
- Prepare outgoing shipments according to company standards.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation (e.g., packing lists, BOLs, customs forms).
- Complete all SAP transactions for outbound shipments.
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and records in SAP.
- Receiving Duties:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies in collaboration with quality control.
- Document and report any issues with received items.
- Perform SAP goods receipt transactions and update inventory records.
- Inventory & System Management:
- Collaborate with inventory Coordinators to ensure proper storage and inventory accuracy.
- Perform cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Use SAP to track material movements, transfers, and replenishments.
- General Duties:
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks as needed.
- Develop and update shipping/receiving processes and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving area.
- Support cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or certification in logistics/supply chain preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years in shipping/receiving, preferably in manufacturing or aerospace.
- Experience using SAP ERP systems with focus on shipping and receiving transactions is mandatory.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate warehouse equipment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
