Job Overview

The Application Engineer is responsible for providing engineering, technical service, and customer support for the selling/promoting of products or services. This role provides technical expertise to internal and external company resources by providing recommendations regarding company products and their use in a variety of industries and applications. The Application Engineer is to understand all product features, advantages of each product, how the product is commonly utilized in various applications, and how to troubleshoot common problems seen in the field. 
 

A Day In The Life

  • Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by: 
  • Developing technical and commercial quotations, based on customer specifications, drawings, etc.   
  • Providing Field Sales support, via technical input and product knowledge, as well as knowledge of commercial considerations.  
  • Providing technical product application and selection support to external and internal customers.  
  • Delivering data for product advertising as needed.   
  • Providing written and / or verbal data and support for construction of maintenance manuals and related information.   
  • Constructing written descriptions of customer requirements, schematics, electrical markups, etc. enough to allow Order Engineering to correctly select & design to meet customer requirements.   
  • Acting as in-house product expert for Crane Control products.  

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience (required) 
  • Technical background (required) 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, General Engineering, or related field preferred 
  • Technical Sales and/or Engineering background a plus.   
  • Ability to work with a team to solve technical or commercial issues is preferred   
  • Ability to read electrical control schematics and / or mechanical drawings is a plus   
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, customer service and sales skills. 
  • Ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers.
