Job Overview

The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment throughout the PCX facility. This position supports production operations and inventory control by receiving, storing, identifying, kitting, staging, and issuing materials required for manufacturing. The Material Handler maintains accurate inventory records, performs cycle counts, and ensures all warehouse and storage areas remain organized, clean, and safe.

A Day In The Life

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Follow all PCX safety policies, procedures, and requirements, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Safely operate equipment, machinery, and tools necessary to perform job duties.
  • Receive, inspect, count, and verify incoming materials and inventory items.
  • Record inventory transactions manually or electronically using company systems.
  • Load, unload, pack, and unpack materials for storage, production, or shipment.
  • Store materials in an organized, accessible, and secure manner.
  • Prepare, cut, kit, assemble, and stage materials and equipment for production needs.
  • Label, tag, stamp, or otherwise identify materials to ensure proper tracking and usage.
  • Conduct inventory counts, cycle counts, and audits as assigned.
  • Identify, investigate, and report inventory discrepancies.
  • Inspect materials and equipment for damage, wear, or defects and report findings to supervisors.
  • Accurately issue and record inventory usage as required.
  • Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness to support safe operations.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, leads, and team members to meet production schedules and business objectives.
  • Adhere to PCX Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Identify and communicate material shortages, inventory concerns, and equipment issues.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions, work orders, procedures, and safety communications.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a positive, team-oriented work environment.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently, or successfully complete company-provided forklift training and certification requirements.

  • Basic understanding of inventory control and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, safety procedures, posted notices, manufacturer manuals, and company policies.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory records and material transactions.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet established production and inventory deadlines.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to identify and resolve routine inventory and material handling issues.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and moving equipment.
  • Ability to work up to 10-hour shifts and weekends as business needs require.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, inventory, material handling, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification may be required.
