Job Overview
The PCX Manufacturing Engineer provides technical support to the production team by developing documentation, improving processes, and ensuring quality and safety standards. This role focuses on continuous improvement in cost, efficiency, and standardization while supporting new product introductions. Responsibilities include troubleshooting manufacturing issues, implementing engineering changes, optimizing ERP systems (SAP), and collaborating with operations, engineering, and quality teams to drive successful project execution.
A Day In The Life
- Design & Development: Contribute to the design and development of systems using CAD tools, stress analysis, and material selection principles.
- Simulation & Testing: Utilize simulation software for stress, thermal, and performance analysis; conduct experiments to validate models and ensure system reliability.
- Manufacturing Support: Identify and resolve manufacturing issues, develop cost-effective solutions, and oversee implementation into production.
- Quality Assurance: Drive product quality improvements through corrective and preventive actions; monitor compliance with ISO9001 and internal quality standards.
- Process Optimization: Lead Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in labor and materials.
- Engineering Changes: Evaluate and implement engineering changes and deviations for materials, processes, and product design.
- Systems Integration: Integrate various systems for cohesive operation across production environments, including troubleshooting ERP systems (SAP) to resolve process or data issues.
- Project Management: Plan, budget, and manage resources for engineering and manufacturing projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory and safety standards.
- Training & Documentation: Develop and train work instructions for manufacturing processes and tooling operations; maintain accurate documentation.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow company safety guidelines, quality management systems, and regulatory requirements.
- Physical & Administrative Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs, work 10-hour shifts, maintain a valid driver’s license, and pass background and drug screening.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems or Systems Engineering preferred.
- 5 years of relevant experience (required)
- Ability to check design drawings with extreme thoroughness while paying strict attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple design projects with varying priority levels
- Proven track record working with systems engineering functions including concept of operations development, requirements management, technical risk management, interface definition and control
- Experience effectively communicating and presenting with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team
- Strong organization, coordination, planning and collaboration skills
- Experience supporting engineering teams in a multi-discipline environment
- Experience conducting system integration and system tests to include development of integration and test plans, test cases and procedures
- Ability to visualize system functionality, to create block diagrams, and to analyze system performance
