Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations. This role supports both operational uptime and adherence to facility ordinances, codes, and safety standards by assisting with inspections, repairs, and compliance documentation.

A Day In The Life

Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, determining root cause and implementing permanent fixes. Maintain and or establish equipment PM schedules and critical spare parts management across 3 different sites within 20-mile radius. Mileage reimbursement provided.

Facilities and Ordinance Compliance: Facility compliance by helping ensure the site meets local and state ordinances, building codes, and safety regulations. It includes assisting with inspections for fire protection systems, HVAC, electrical infrastructure, emergency equipment, and other critical facility components. The technician performs routine testing and preventive checks required by regulatory authorities. They document and escalate any facility conditions that could impact safety, compliance, or environmental standards. The role also supports corrective actions from audits or inspections and helps maintain required records such as maintenance logs, inspection reports, and asset documentation.

Troubleshoot & Technical Support: Point person on equipment breakdowns and facilities events. Ability to understand schematics, manuals and diagnostic tools. Organized communication via email, MS teams and group chats effectively communicating status and expected return service timelines.

Systems Support & ERP Utilization: Collaborate with Engineering and Sourcing for vendor alignment and setup. Utilize systems to create requisitions for materials and or necessary services.

Safety and Continuous Improvement: Perform safe work, maintain safe working areas.Participate in Kaizen events related to scope of work. Support continuous improvement by utilization of 5S, TPM and other systematic approaches for better efficiency. 

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years working in facilities/maintenance role
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals).
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety (OSHA, LOTO)
  • Preferred trade school training in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, HVAC or Facilities Engineering.
