A Day In The Life

The Director NBD is responsible for leading the company’s efforts in developing and launching new product developments as well as guiding the current Application Engineering team to custom solutions in prefabricated, modular electrical solutions. This executive role involves overseeing the research and development team, formulating strategic innovation goals and maintaining the product roadmap, and ensuring the company stays at the forefront of industry advancements.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to increase the company’s market share in the low voltage switchgear (LVSG) and data center sectors.
  • Identify new market opportunities and lead the pursuit of strategic partnerships and customer engagements.
  • Lead new product development efforts, basing requirements on voice of customer (VOC) activities and market research. Develop business case, schedule, and budget and ensure key milestones are achieved.
  • Collaborate with customer engineering and product development teams to understand end user requirements  and align product offerings  with market needs.
  • Conduct market analysis to understand industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer requirements.  Identify key product attributes that will differentiate PCX products and solutions in the market.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals, including estimate and proposal development, negotiation, and contract signing.
  • Lead the application engineering team in response to customer requests for proposal (RFP), ensuring the proposed solutions meet end user requirements and offer competitive pricing and technology alternatives to best position PCX against competing bidders.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and forge strategic relationships.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns that align with business development strategies.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on business development progress and results to senior management.
  • Lead, mentor, and expand the business development team to meet strategic goals.

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development or sales, with a proven track record in the data center industry.
  • Strong technical understanding of low voltage switchboard and prefabricated skid equipment.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and experience in managing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet business objectives.
