Job Overview
Hubbell's Systems Control location in Iron Mountain, MI is looking for a CNC Programmer to join their team! The CNC Programmer is responsible for generating G-code program files for laser and plasma cutting machines. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for interpreting drawings, nesting components efficiently, and generating the corresponding G-code.

A Day In The Life
Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference as CNC Programmer by:
- Programming products from all sides of the business utilizing CNC nesting software (SigmaNest)
- Making program adjustments to improve product manufacturability, efficiency, and quality.
- Producing G-code and nesting reports for the machine operators.
- Troubleshooting machine errors and working with operators to fix error in G-code.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for materials.
- Troubleshoot and revise programs to improve performance and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality control teams.
- Maintain documentation for programs and machine setups.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Associate degree in CAD/CAM or MET, or equivalent experience may be considered, but not required
- Practical application of 2D AutoCAD and MS Office Suite.
- Previous experience with CNC nesting software is a plus but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to understand mechanical drawings
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude/interest
- Strong attention to detail and visualization skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects at one time
