Job Overview
Role Summary
The Senior System Integration Test Engineer is responsible for leading and executing system integration testing (SIT) across complex, distributed systems, ensuring end-to-end functionality, data integrity, performance, and reliability.
This role combines strong hands-on testing expertise with automation, performance engineering, AI-driven testing practices, and database validation, supporting high-quality releases in cloud-enabled and data-driven environments.
A Day In The Life
Key Responsibilities
System Integration & End-to-End Testing
- Design and execute comprehensive SIT strategies across APIs, applications, databases, and third-party systems
- Validate end-to-end workflows, including data flows, system interactions, and business processes
- Identify and mitigate integration risks, defects, and inconsistencies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure release quality and readiness
Test Automation & Modern Tooling
- Develop and maintain automation frameworks for integration and regression testing
- Implement automation using:
- Selenium / Cypress (UI testing)
- REST Assured / Postman / Karate (API testing)
- Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
- Improve test efficiency through reusability and scalability of automation assets
Performance & Load Testing
- Design and execute performance, load, stress, and endurance tests
- Use tools such as:
- JMeter, LoadRunner, k6, Gatling
- Analyze system behavior under load and identify:
- Bottlenecks
- Scalability issues
- Resource constraints
- Collaborate with development teams for performance tuning
AI-Driven Testing & Advanced Automation
- Apply AI/ML-based testing approaches for:
- Automated test generation
- Intelligent test prioritization
- Defect prediction and clustering
- Use AI tools for log analysis and anomaly detection in performance results
- Contribute to self-healing and adaptive testing frameworks
Database & Data Validation
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data validation
- Validate:
- Data consistency across systems
- ETL/data pipelines
- High-volume transactional data
- Work with:
- Relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Support database performance validation and tuning efforts
Cloud & Distributed Systems Testing
- Perform testing in cloud environments (Azure, Azure local,AWS)
- Validate microservices and event-driven architectures
- Work with:
- Messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Ensure system reliability in distributed, scalable environments
Defect Management & Root Cause Analysis
- Lead defect triage and resolution processes
- Perform deep root cause analysis across application, database, and integration layers
- Track and report defects using tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps
Collaboration & Agile Delivery
- Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies
- Work closely with:
- Developers
- Product owners
- DevOps teams
- Provide clear SIT status reporting, risks, and mitigation plans
Mentorship & Leadership (Emerging)
- Mentor junior engineers and guide best practices in testing and automation
- Contribute to improving SIT processes, frameworks, and standards
- Act as a technical lead for SIT initiatives within projects

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in:
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- API and distributed system testing
- Automation and performance testing
Technical Skills
Testing & Automation

Performance Testing

Programming / Scripting
- Strong skills in:
- Python / Java / C# / JavaScript
Database Skills
- Advanced SQL (joins, stored procedures, query optimization)
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
Cloud & DevOps
- Azure / AWS
- CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- Containerization basics (Docker, Kubernetes – preferred)
AI / ML (Preferred)
- Experience or exposure to:
- AI-driven testing tools
- Predictive analytics in QA
- Test optimization using machine learning
