Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Position Overview

The Software design engineer will be responsible for design & development. This would include expertise in .NET technology stack, SQL Server database, Oracle database, WCF Services, Web API’s among other experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyzes requirements for feasibility, implementation strategy, and provides estimates. Contribute to team development efforts towards successful project delivery.
  • Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits.
  • Develop conceptual designs and detailed designs in accordance with established engineering processes, submit design and code for reviews, and update the designs as required as a result of reviews.
  • Works independently under minimal supervision.
  • Maintains existing application codebase, performs refactoring as needed to provide highly reliable solutions
  • Making necessary documentation as per corporate’s engineering software NPI process guidelines and end user level product
  • Collaborates with Technical Leads, Architects, and Cross functional teams to ensure that design meets overall system objectives.

Skills and Experience

  • 3 to 5+ years’ of working experience in building Web based applications with  strong competencies in database, algorithms, data structures & object oriented programming.
  • Strong knowledge on
    • C#.Net, Angular, ASP.Net with MVC, WebAPI, Kendo UI, .NET Framework 4.5 or higher, OOAD
    • Azure Cloud development
    • Database programming using MS SQL Server and Oracle
    • Experience with web-based development; HTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap etc.
  • Thoroughly knowledgeable with all aspects of software development lifecycles
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies & apply them
  • Excellent communication, analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Preferred:
  • Azure DevOps, SAFe development will be an added advantage

Education

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering General
Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering General
