Job Overview

Hubbell is seeking an experienced engineering applications support lead with a primary focus on delivering and maintaining CAD-PLM integrations across our global engineering environment. This role owns the implementation and ongoing reliability of MCAD/ECAD applications and their connectors to PLM, including configuration, workflow enablement, metadata mapping, validation/testing, deployment, and sustained support of end-to-end release and change processes. You will also ensure the operational performance of PLM services overall by managing support intake and prioritization, resolving complex incidents and problems, coordinating maintenance and upgrades, and driving continuous improvement for a large global engineering user community. Mentoring and supporting engineers and analysts is a secondary responsibility to strengthen troubleshooting, documentation, and service delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement, configure, and continuously improve CAD integrations with PLM, including MCAD and ECAD connectors, workflows, metadata mappings, part structures, and release/change processes. Coordinate design, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support of CAD/PLM integrations with engineering, vendors, and IT integration teams.
  • Own day-to-day operational support for PLM platforms and services, including user access, incidents/requests, problem management, and service improvements.
  • Administer and support integration points between PLM and mechanical/electrical CAD (MCAD/ECAD) tools (e.g., CAD check-in/out, attribute mapping, configurations, part numbering, and release workflows) to ensure reliable end-to-end engineering processes.
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures, runbooks, knowledge base articles, user guides, SLAs, and KPIs for PLM and CAD integration services.
  • Collaborate with engineering, PLM/CAD vendors, and IT teams (infrastructure, identity, security, integration, DevOps) to resolve cross-functional issues and ensure application availability, performance, and compliance across integrated toolchains.
  • Drive automation and standardization for deployments, environment management, and monitoring/alerting for PLM services and CAD integrations (including interface/job health and data quality checks).
  • Support the identification and implementation of improvements on the engineering application roadmap, prioritizing PLM capabilities, MCAD/ECAD integration enhancements, and user experience.
  • Ensure data integrity, backup, and disaster recovery strategies for PLM repositories/vaults, CAD data and the migration thereof, and critical integration components.
  • Plan and execute application deployment methods, upgrades, patching, and license administration for PLM and CAD systems, including coordinated testing/validation of integrations and vendor support engagement.
  • Mentor and support IT support engineers and analysts for engineering applications by providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing to support PLM and CAD application engineering users.
  • Prepare and present support operations updates to senior management, highlighting PLM service health, CAD integration reliability, user impact, and continuous improvement progress.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT support operations, with at least 5 years supporting engineering CAD applications.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring/supporting peers and coordinating work across teams.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering tools and processes, especially PLM/PDM administration and integrations with mechanical and electrical CAD (MCAD/ECAD), including BOM, change control, and release workflows.
  • Experience with Windows / Linux server environments, Active Directory, virtualization, and cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, scripting (e.g. PowerShell, Python), and automation tools
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting PLM/CAD integrations and interfaces (e.g., connectors/plugins, SSO, batch jobs), including basic understanding of APIs, data mappings, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Strong influencing, facilitation, and mentoring skills, with the ability to drive alignment across engineering and IT stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to set realistic objectives, accurately appraise situations, detect risks, and adapt to changes in priorities.
  • Experience in change management and driving organizational adoption of new IT systems and processes.
  • Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Ivanti, Cherwell).
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology, ideally Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • ITIL certification or similar operational framework knowledge
